Mel Stride - Christmas Card Competition

CONGRATULATIONS TO ANNABELLE!

NEWTON St Cyres Primary School pupil Annabelle Meakin-Lee, five, has won a competition to design her Member of Parliament's Christmas card this year. Central Devon MP Mel Stride sends more than 1,000 cards each year, including to organisations he's visited during the previous 12 months, as well as friends and family.

This year Mr Stride opened the design competition to all 43 primary schools within his constituency. Annabelle won with her picture of a vibrant Christmas tree.

Sponsored by Rex Rozario OBE, chairman of Graphic PLC in Crediton, the competition saw more than 250 entries with Molly Hodges, 10, from Tedburn St Mary and Eve Ferrand, 8, from Bow as runners-up. Molly's drawing was of Robin and Eve with a Christmas pudding on the front. The winner and runners up were notified this week. Mel said: "I'm delighted to have had such a positive response from local schools and that so many pupils have got involved."
