Administrative Assistant

The Executive Headteacher and Governors of the Exe Valley Federation wish to appoint an Administrative Assistant from January 2021, to provide administrative and organisational support at Brampford Speke C of E School. The Federation comprises five village primary schools within a 6-mile area and shares a common vision for excellence and a drive to continuously improve outcomes for all our children, both emotionally and academically. Brampford Speke is a church school with a strong Christian ethos and all staff are expected to uphold this ethos. The post-holder may be asked to work at other Federation schools in the future. 

The Administrative Assistant’s role includes the following:

  • dealing with sensitive and confidential information regarding staff and pupils so it is essential to maintain the highest level of confidentiality in relation to all school matters.
  • developing communication within the school and with all stakeholders to ensure transparency and clarity of school's vision. 

The Administrative Assistant will work under the supervision and guidance of the Executive Headteacher and Federation Business Manager. 

The post-holder will be based at Brampford Speke C of E School office for 19 hours per week and will be expected to work from 8.30am to 4.30pm [with half an hour’s lunch break] on Thursdays and Fridays and from 12.00 to 4.30pm on Wednesdays. This will allow a 30-minute hand-over with the Admin Assistant working at the start of the week. There is some flexibility in these arrangements for the successful candidate. 

The salary for this post is currently £18,933 to £19,698 full time equivalent [NJC Grade C] or an hourly rate of £9.81 to £10.21. This post is for 39 weeks per year [term time plus 5 staff development days]. The closing date for applications is Friday 27th November 2020 and interviews will take place on Wednesday 2nd December.
