Welcome to Hawthorn Class

Welcome to Hawthorn class we are Year 3 and 4. Our teachers are Miss White on Monday, and on Tuesday afternoon, Mrs Little for the rest of the week. . We are also very lucky to have Mrs Bazley our HLTA, on Wednesday Mrs Salmon and Mon-Fri Mr Case to support our learning.

We are a very creative class and love to learn through practical tasks – we all work together to make our class a great place to work and have fun.

Autumn Term in Hawthorn Class

What a productive term we have had – and what a joy to be together as a class.  From the photos, you will see we have been busy inside the class and out in our lovely grounds.  Forest School activities included bird watching, marshmallow toasting, den building, fire-making and constructing a giant sized marble run.  Hot chocolate was a special treat enjoyed by most of us.

Our Harvest project is something that we are all very proud of – we all used the sewing machine independently to quilt our designs.  We learned about embroidery, applique, tacking and seam ripping.  This was just part of our Killerton Project which involved lots of Geography and History.

Mrs Holding teaches us R.E. and you can see some of the Rangoli patterns we made.

This year we took part in the virtual village carol service – which we watched together in class.  Our end of term carols were rained off at the last minute as the electric keyboard was getting wet – and so were we, plus the sound quality was poor because of the wind.

Our Snowman Stories we are really proud of and we have all illustrated our own books.

Finally, we are looking forward to having pets in January as the fish tank (kindly bought for the school by F.O.S.S.) is now set up with plants, filter and lights!
