Classes
Class 1 - Hound Tor Class
Hound Tor Class is made up of Reception children.
Miss Aldridge is the class teacher, and she is supported by Mrs Atkins.
We have a lovely classroom and outside area where we can do all of our learning. We love to read, play, explore and have an adventure. Please take a look at our school newsletter to see what we have been learning each week.
We follow the curriculum guidance for the Early Years Foundation Stage.
Work is planned across seven areas of learning:
• Personal, social and emotional development
• Communication and language
• Physical development
• Literacy
• Mathematics
• Understanding the world
• Expressive arts and design
We work on topics and themes, which provides learning opportunities through lots of interesting activities and investigations.
Class 2 - Birch Tor Class
Birch Tor Class is a mixed Year 1 and Year 2 class.
Mrs Shearer is the class teacher, and she is supported throughout the week by Mrs Jutson, Miss Baldock and Miss Grey.
As the children progress into Class 2 we encourage independence and would encourage the children to organise their belongings each day. We read daily and for this reason books should always be in school. Please record any home reading in your reading log.

Class 3 - Shilstone Tor Class
Shilstone Tor Class is a mixed Year 3 and Year 4 class.
Mrs Edgcombe is the class teacher, and she is supported by Miss Grey and Miss Baldock throughout the week.
As the children progress into Class 3, we encourage the children to learn their times tables both in school and at home to increase their recall speed. We read daily and for this reason books should always be in school. Please record any home reading in your reading log.

Class 4 - Row Tor Class
Row Tor Class is a mixed Year 5 and Year 6 class.
Mrs Rowe is the class teacher, and is supported by Miss Dallas and Miss Baker throughout the week.
As the children progress into Class , we further develop their independence and foundational skills in preparation for transitioning to Key Stage 3. We take pride in being good role models and helping the younger members of our school community. We read daily and for this reason books should always be in school. Please record any home reading in your reading log.
