Hound Tor Class is made up of Reception and Year 1 children.

Mrs Shearer is the class teacher, and she is supported by Mrs Atkins and Mrs Jutson throughout the week.

We have a lovely classroom and outside area where we can do all of our learning. We love to read, play, explore and have an adventure. Please take a look at our school newsletter to see what we have been learning each week.

Work is planned across seven areas of learning:

 • Personal, social and emotional development
 • Communication and language
 • Physical development
 • Literacy
 • Mathematics
 • Understanding the world
 • Expressive arts and design
We work on topics and themes, which provides learning opportunities through lots of interesting activities and investigations.

Class 2 - Shilstone Tor Class

Shilstone Tor Class is a mixed Year 2, Year 3 and Year 4 class.

Mrs Edgcombe is the class teacher, and she is supported by Miss Baldock, Miss Grey and Mrs Dallas throughout the week.

As the children progress into Class 2, we encourage the children to learn their times tables both in school and at home to increase their recall speed. We read daily and for this reason books should always be in school. Please record any home reading in your reading log.
