School Meals
We are fortunate that we have a school kitchen on the premises where meals are freshly prepared for the children. Lunches cost £2.65 per day and we ask that where possible these are paid for in advance. We ask all parents to book their children's lunches 5 days IN ADVANCE on MCAS and for those in Years 3,4,5 and 6 to make payment on the MCAS app. If you have any problems accessing the app, please contact the school office on cornwood@moorsway.devon.sch.uk or phone 01752 837375.
Packed lunches may be brought to school and eaten under supervision in the hall. Drinks should be brought in reusable bottles - no glass bottles please. Please note that we do have a healthy lunch policy and encourage children to have a balanced diet. Sweets and crisps should not be brought to school for snack time, but children may bring healthy snacks for playtime, e.g. fresh fruit.
Allergies and food intolerances can also be catered for by offering an alternative, such as a dairy or wheat free option. Please see the list of allergens specific to our current menu below.
The Government introduced Universal Infant Free School Meals for all Key Stage 1 pupils from September 2014.
All pupils in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 in state-funded schools in England are eligible for Universal Infant Free School Meals.
Families on Income Support, Income Based Job Seekers Allowance or in receipt of Child Tax Credit (not Working Tax Credit). Depending on their income, may be entitled to free meals. It is advantageous to register for free school meals even if these are not taken on a regular basis as other related benefits may then become available.
